When have people been dancing in the streets after a national election in this country?
Not in my lifetime, that’s for sure — at least as far as I can remember — and I was born on the day we bombed Nagasaki. I still can’t believe it. I can’t believe I get to be proud of America again — it’s been so long! We took our country back. The nightmare is over. And now can people please shut up about right vs. left, liberal vs. conservative, and just do the right thing?

Free at last, free at last! Free from the marginalization and ridicule of the fear-mongering and ignorant. I don’t entirely understand my own tears, except perhaps symbolically - as a baptizing and cleansing from the pollution and stench of the past divisive years, uniting me with others in a sort of communion for all that is now possible. A psychological shift is occurring in our national psyche, and it’s humbling to observe. And we deserve it.

I’ve felt a swelling in my chest the likes of which I’ve only read about. First, knowing that I was a part of this most monumental and historic of occasions and then listening to the man himself as he gave his victory speech…I don’t know that I’ve ever felt proud to be an American before…what a strange and wonderful feeling.

Is it possible that Americans who think as you do have been, during the past 8 years at least, duped into believing you are in a minority. Obama has given you a banner to gather under and has shown that you are the majority.
Now, keep it going. Don’t think you can leave it all to Obama. He doesn’t have a magic wand.
