Welcome to FarrFeed

In the next day or two I’ll be doing some heavy lifting, Web-wise. The first thing is that I need to recover some files from an earlier version of FarrFeed not currently online. I’m having trouble running this locally on my MAMP virtual server and may need to temporarily transform this blog into the old version for a day or so. If that happens, you’ll be seeing a bunch of old posts. I’d like to avoid this and may yet, but don’t be surprised to see some very weird stuff at this address.

The second thing is updating to WordPress 2.6. As usual when doing this, you may notice some features going missing or not working right away. Cross your fingers on that one.

Let’s see, what to do first?

Weird stuff on this site? Say it ain’t so, John. Anyhow, that adjective needs to be retired. Ain’t nothing very weird, or maybe I should say “weird”, about eccentricity, passion or ordinary human orneriness. Weirdness usually carry the day in the end. Think of Socrates, Jesus, or Sir Isaac Newton. We need more weirdness. Weird is beautiful!

John- quick note to say NICE JOB on the cloud formation images on your fotofeed… I’ve always been intrigued by cloud formations and find it puzzling why they are not the subject of more photographers and painters. I’ve been photographing clouds formations for about 15 years… always fresh, always mysterious… always meaningful:) Thanks for inspiring us with your own personal journey…

Well, I’m glad someone’s inspired with it! Sometimes I think my life is just one calamity after another, and right now things are STILL rather unsettled…

But thank you for your kind words, and I certainly agree about clouds.

It’s a small world. There’s a club here in Ottawa called Zaphod Beeblebrox. I walk past it most days on my way home from work. I always figured the name was made up by the proprietors. Now I see it’s a character in a book inside Number 6’s mind. Just one more confirmation I’m living in the Twilight Zone.

Zaphod, two-headed three-armed ex-president of the galaxy and all around uber-cool party guy, from “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Douglas Adams, one of the greatest sci-fi comedies ever from 30 years ago. exists as a radio show, book series, tv series, computer game (text adventure for the old Apple ][), and a rather crappy movie version from a few years back.

c’mon, get with the program people! it’s an obscure reference, but not THAT obscure…
